Seeking a Microbiology Lab Technician to support food safety and quality initiatives within a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, laboratory documentation, and supporting continuous quality improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological sampling, plating, and testing for raw materials, water systems, environmental samples, and finished products
• Monitor and interpret test results, identify trends or deviations, and communicate findings to quality and production teams
• Support environmental monitoring programs including ATP swabbing and organism-specific testing such as Yeast, Mold, TPC, Pseudomonas, and Lactobacillus
• Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and inventory, including calibration and troubleshooting
• Accurately document and enter results into RealSPC and SAP systems
• Assist with investigations and follow-up activities related to out-of-specification results
• Prepare and ship samples to customers and third-party laboratories as needed
• Support the creation and revision of SOPs and microbiological documentation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of microbiological testing methods, cGMPs, sanitation procedures, and safe chemical handling
• Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and data interpretation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field preferred but not required
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred
• HACCP and/or PCQI certification is a plus
