Excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning new skills, and being involved in exciting construction and engineering projects.

While training, you’ll spend most of your time in the field assisting with drilling operations and construction materials testing before gradually taking on additional office and reporting responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

• Assist engineers with geotechnical field investigations and construction materials testing
• Work alongside drilling crews collecting soil samples and documenting soil boring logs
• Help stake and prepare new drilling locations for upcoming projects
• Coordinate utility locates (811) and private utility locating when needed
• Assist with laboratory data entry and preparation of geotechnical reports
• Maintain accurate field notes, project documentation, and boring records
• Operate a company vehicle to travel to project sites throughout the area

What We’re Looking For

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must be at least 21 years of age (company vehicle requirement)
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Good computer and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately document field information
• Able to lift equipment, walk uneven terrain, and work safely around construction sites

Schedule & Pay

• Starting pay: $20.00 – .25.00 per hour
• Average 40-50 hours per week (weather dependent)
• Hours vary based on drilling schedules
• Some mornings begin as early as 5:00 AM, especially during summer months
• Company vehicle and gas card provided for field work
