CNC Programmer Tech

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer Tech to operate, program, and maintain CNC Lathe equipment. This position is critical to ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality in our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, the ability to read technical blueprints, and the drive to improve processes while training and supporting others.

Location:  Temple, TX

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret technical drawings to set up machines in accordance with specifications.
• Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and optimize cutting paths.
• Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet exact design specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine or programming issues as they arise.
• Train employees on CNC machine operations and programming best practices.
• Recommend improvements to increase safety, efficiency, and reduce waste.
• Assist in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
• Support prototype machining operations, from quality planning to first-piece approval.
• Lead preventative maintenance and contribute to capital equipment improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience (Horizontal Lathe experience required).
• Strong skills in CNC machining setups, troubleshooting, and code adjustments.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical blueprints and drawings.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software; AutoCAD, THICAM, and Esprit are a plus.
• Knowledge of tooling applications, cutting tools, and machining technologies.
• Familiarity with PLCs preferred.
• Understanding of Lean principles, ISO 9001 standards, and continuous improvement processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Positive, professional attitude with the ability to work independently.
